Artabaz succeeded his cousin, Gotarzes I.
He was succeeded by his distant nephew, Osroes III.
Etymology[]
Artabaz(es/os) is the Hellenized form of Old Persian R̥tavazdāʰ and means "possessing endurance through Arta (truth)." Its Persian form is Ashavazd.
