Camp Arslan sets out to face Kharlan's army while Gieve meets Farangis.
Synopsis[]
As Arslan helps Elam prepare the horses to leave, Narsus reveals to Daryun that he would have considered Arslan unfit as a monarch if he had not decided to save the village from Kharlan’s men. They look on fondly as Arslan urges them to hurry before it is too late.
Meanwhile, Gieve struggles to find a horse. It’s implied that he kills a passing Lusitanian soldier and takes his horse. On the trail, he comes across Farangis and falls in love with her at first sight. He plans to rescue her from some bandits that are approaching so that she will be indebted to him. Instead, she quickly takes care of them herself and continues on her way. Gieve calls out to her several times before she acknowledges him. He recites a poem that he composed and pledges his loyalty to her. She quickly brushes him off and says that she has no need for his loyalty. They discuss their mutual hatred for the Lusitanian army and Farangis says that she is searching for Arslan. She continues on, and Gieve follows her.
Kharlan is shown executing some innocent Parsian citizens after interrogating them about Arslan, who they know nothing about.
