The Lusitanian Army begins to besiges the Royal Capital as Arslan and his party leave Narsus's house.
Narsus want to leave Elam behind for his safety, but Elam refuses, stating he is indebted to Narsus and adding that Narsus can't do anything without him, to which Daryun humorously agree. Daryun also expresses his desire that Arslan and Elam become friends, and Arslan says they need Elam for his culinary abilities, which causes Narsus and Daryun to agree to take him. They leave the house while Kharlan's men manage to came out of the pit, persuade that Arslan and his party will be caught by soldiers patrolling the moutain.
However, Arlan's party have decides to stay in a nearing cave a little. Narsus uses the time to tell Arslan the rules a good leader must follow.
At Peshawar, Kishward and Bahman are informed of the defeat of Atropatene and the beginning of the siege of Ecbatana. The Lusitanian Army's presence shock the population. The Lusitanians then present the tortured Marzban Shapur .
Bodin, Shapur's torturer, begins to beat Shapur as he show defiance. Shapur appeals that his countrymen to kill him, which angers Bodin even more. Shapur is then killed by a mysterious archer who is summoned by the Queen for a reward.
