Maryam was a kingdom that resided in the north-west of Pars. This country was also an ally of the Kingdom of Pars, before it fell in P.E. 320.

Geography[]

Not much is known about this country's geography. Maryam had lots of long rivers and was covered with mountains. It also had coastal areas. The weather may have been a little colder than Pars' as the country is closer to north.

Its capital city was Iraklion.

History[]

In P.E. 317, the Empire of Lusitania tried to invade Maryam but failed, as King Andragoras III of Pars came to help with an army of 300,000 men. Three years later, Lusitania once again tried to invade Maryam and, this time, the kingdom fell very easily, due to Hilmes' aiding Lusitania and the treachery of the King of Maryam, who gave away his own kingdom to be on the winning side and later got killed by Hilmes as punishment. After the war, the Lusitanians burned lots of citizens, even children and babies, as they didn't believe in the Faith of Yaldabaoth. They also forced their beliefs upon the remaining citizens. After having a fight with Prince Guiscard, Archpriest Bodin came to Maryam with his Temple Knights.

Culture and Industry[]

It is mentioned that the country has admirable tradition and history, but is poor with resources.

Religion[]

The Maryamese worship Yaldabaoth. Unlike Lusitania, which is of the exclusive Westurn Church, Maryam is of the Eastern Church, which is more tolerant of other religions.

Inspiration[]

Maryam is possibly based on the Colchis-Iberian Kingdom of late Antiquity.
