The second manga of The Heroic Legend of Arslan (アルスラーン戦記 Arusurān Senki? ) is being written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa based on Yoshiki Tanaka's novel series and serialized in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. The chapters are later compiled in tankōbon volumes which are published by Kodansha under their Shōnen Magazine Comics imprint. While the first volume was released in 2014, the manga series officially started in 2013 with the first publication of the story in an edition of Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine of that year. The adapted anime series condensed the story heavily and ended at a much later stage of the story that the manga series had not released at the time.
As opposed to the original novel series, the manga revised the timeline and begins the story in Pars Era 317. The timeskip of four years of Arslan's reign as Savior King until the return of the Snake King Zahhāk in the year 325 is also condensed to immediately occurring after Andragoras's death.
The coming of the final arc was celebrated in the Kodansha magazine issue of April 2025.
