Yoshiki Tanaka (Japanese: 田中 芳樹, Hepburn: Tanaka Yoshiki, born 22 October 1952) is a writer, best known as the author of The Heroic Legend of Arslan and Legend of the Galactic Heroes, both of which were adapted as anime and manga.
Tanaka created a fictional history of pre-Islamic Western Asia, of which Pars in particular is the main stage. His writings were formed into sixteen novels, collectively called The Heroic Legend of Arslan (Japanese: アルスラーン戦記, Hepburn: Arusurān Senki).
Biography[]
Tanaka was born on 22 October 1952, in Hondo, Kumamoto Prefecture and took his doctorate degree in Japanese Language and Literature in the Graduate School of Gakushūin University in Tokyo.
